(author’s note: this piece was written for school, i just wanted to share it here too now that the semester is over. the voice this piece is written in is different from my usual due to trying to conform to an “academic” voice, & kind of failing. i hate it but i don’t want to try to rewrite this info again, truthfully. i touched on some of this stuff in my post “getting down to business,” which was originally a tangent i went on in this essay that i had to cut to make the expected word count. also, the essay was supposed to be a comparison of the above mentioned, not a musing on the form God takes when no one is watching. the resulting paper, which i sliced in half, got me an A; not to sound conceited, but i figured it would. the exploration of sumerian myth in conjunction with abrahamic traditions was first brought to my attention by scholar & magician damien echols, who i cited for this paper. i study his work regularly, & find him to be an icon & an inspiration. if you haven’t read his work, & are at all interested in learning magic while unlearning toxic religion, give his books a go. i’m gonna let y’all read the essay now. blessed may these words be, that they may guide you on a new path.)
